ARD (Alto Rendimiento Digital) was developed to enhance the digital capabilities of
sports professionals
across Spain. The project was promoted and managed by two major national institutions: the
Consejo
Superior
de Deportes (CSD) and the Asociación del Deporte Español (ADESP).
The initiative aimed to provide high-quality training and digital tools that would help sports
organizations
and professionals improve their online presence, performance, and digital management.
Challenge
The main challenge was to design and implement a complete online learning platform based
on Moodle,
capable
of delivering engaging and accessible digital education for sports professionals.
Before addressing the platform, I conducted a holistic research to analyze the entire
student journey on
Moodle. This research helped identify pain points, bottlenecks, and opportunities to create a
seamless
process for learners.
During the first enrollment phase, several issues in the registration process were
discovered, causing
confusion and delays for some users. To address this, I implemented a series of corrective actions
focused
on improving clarity and usability, including:
Creating step-by-step video tutorials with clear instructions.
Developing an instructional PDF guide for easy reference.
Distributing these resources through Zoho CRM email templates, allowing us
to
track student progress and
ensure smooth onboarding.
These actions simplified a critical part of the process, reduced support requests, and enabled students
to
start the course successfully.
My Role & Contributions
As part of the ARD project team, I contributed across a wide range of creative, technical, and
administrative areas:
UX/UI Design: Designed intuitive and accessible interfaces and learning experiences
within Moodle and
related platforms.
Multimedia Production: Produced and edited video classes,
tutorials, and other visual assets to support
learning and communication.
Moodle Administration & Customization:
Installed and managed Moodle as an administrator,
enhancing
core resources beyond the default version.
Created custom HTML/CSS components (cards, content
blocks,
and highlights) to improve content
presentation
and personalization.
Optimized usability for both students and instructors, ensuring
efficient
navigation and access to
learning
materials.
Student Assistance & Feedback:
Acted as a student assistant, guiding users through
the
platform and explaining its features.
Collected feedback from students, which informed
improvements and the implementation of requested
features
to enhance the learning experience.
Web Development: Designed and maintained the official WordPress
website, ensuring accessibility,
performance, and visual coherence with the course identity.
Email Marketing: Developed Zoho CRM templates to manage
onboarding, course communication, and follow-ups
with students.
Data & Analytics: Implemented Zoho Analytics and Google Analytics 4
(GA4) to monitor user behavior,
engagement, and overall platform performance.
Email templates for mail list.
Impact & Results
The project exceeded expectations in terms of reach, engagement, and user satisfaction.
The number of participants grew steadily with each edition:
1st Edition: 770 students
2nd Edition: 1,000 students
3rd Edition: 1,900 students
4th Edition: 1,600 students (slightly shorter edition)
This growth reflects strong interest and demand from sports professionals, surpassing both initial
estimates
and contractual targets.
The improvements in the registration process — including tutorials and guides — reduced support
requests
and
enabled smoother onboarding. Participants were able to access and navigate the course easily, which
contributed to higher engagement and completion rates.
Feedback showed that students not only completed the training but also applied their digital
skills in
their professional activities, demonstrating real-world impact across sports disciplines.
Follow-up
The success of ARD continues beyond the course itself. Many participants have shared
their professional growth and digital transformation experiences on LinkedIn,
illustrating the project’s lasting value and its contribution to the sports community in Spain.
Key Learnings
Conducting holistic research on the platform and student journey is
absolutely essential for identifying pain points and creating seamless processes.
Being in direct contact with users — in this case, students — is critical to
understand their needs and adapt Moodle to provide better experiences.
Hands-on Moodle administration and customization allows for significant
improvements even within standard platform limitations.
Providing step-by-step guides and multimedia tutorials dramatically improves
onboarding
and reduces support requests.
Acting as a student assistant and gathering feedback helps
prioritize improvements and enhance the overall learning experience.
Combining UX design, multimedia production, web development, and analytics creates
a holistic learning experience that maximizes engagement and outcomes.
